Review : A.U.B. - Bazoom, Tiger, Cupcake (The Mixtape) by Vic Jamm

DJ Biggie, MC Syze and Mr Dan can probably be the best hip-hop combination of dope scratches, crazy wordplay and lethal punchlines. When Harimau Malaya dropped back then, it was pretty clear that the holy trinity of Malaysian Hip-Hop scene might have arrived.

Production wise DJ Biggie must be given credit for the good work. Despite most songs are remix, the lyrics are originally written by MC Syze and Mr Dan themselves and most of them are bangers. Not to forget there is a Statik Selektah beat (Grande, which is a strong track) and features from nominal local hip-hop artistes like Balan Kashmir, Sheezay, Rabbit Mac, Nigel Sparks, and Point Blanc.

My favourite track of the mixtape personally is Macha's Room, a remix of Drake's Marvin's Room. The change of lyrics to have a local feel and personal touch show the truest emotion. Though there isn't really an official instrumental of Marvin's Room, DJ Biggie reconstructed the instrumental to each and every detail perfectly. Strongly recommended tracks : Haters, Harimau Malaya, I Gotta Thing For You, Grande, Macha's Room.

6foot7foot remix, in my opinion felt a little too lengthy, to a point I have no idea where the song was heading. But the punchlines on this song are really strong, in english and tamil (which I don't understand, lol).

Lyrically and production wise this mixtape is top notch. To be honest, this is a really good mixtape. I would really be looking forward to an A.U.B. album in the coming future with all original songs. But for now, get the mixtape, you really don't want to miss out on this.
